NAC is a stable form of L-carnosine, an antioxidant made of two amino acids that occurs naturally in the body. Because it's delivered as a drop, NAC can pass through the cornea into the fluid at the front of the eye, where it converts to carnosine. There it helps protect the lens from oxidative stress, one of the processes linked to age-related changes in the eye. According to the World Health Organization, cataract is one of the leading causes of vision impairment worldwide. That makes daily antioxidant support a popular choice for people who want to look after their long-term eye health.
These symptoms can also point to other eye conditions, so always have changes in your vision checked by an optician.
Part of a daily routine alongside professional care. Customers often use Bright Eyes together with advice from their optician or doctor when looking after:
Our eye drops do not replace diagnosis or treatment from an eye care professional. Please continue any prescribed treatment. If you take medication, check with your doctor or pharmacist first.
How to use: The suggested routine is 6–8 drops in each eye daily, spread through the day. Do not use more than 8 drops per eye per day. If you'd like to switch to a lower maintenance routine of 1–2 applications a day, talk to your optician or doctor first.
What's in the box: 2 × 5ml sterile, sealed bottles in a security-sealed box. Each bottle lasts about 30 days at 4 drops a day, or about 15 days at 7–8 drops a day.
Storage: Keep unopened bottles in the fridge, away from light and out of reach of children.
Complementary support: Some customers also take 2–3g a day of Ethos Endymion Carnosine powder supplement alongside the drops.

N-acetyl-carnosine (NAC) is a naturally derived antioxidant that researchers have studied for its role in eye health, particularly as the eyes age. Below are published studies and scientific reviews so you can explore the research yourself.
Much of this research looks at how oxidative stress and other age-related changes affect the lens of the eye, and how antioxidants such as NAC may help protect it.
These studies are shared for information only. Research into NAC eye drops is ongoing, and individual results may vary. Always consult an optician, optometrist or GP about your eye health.
